Carla Gomes Elected an AAAS Fellow

Carla Gomes has been elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world's largest general scientific society and publisher of the journal Science. The citation reads, "for distinguished contributions in computer science, particularly for advances in automated reasoning, constraint reasoning and optimization, and for visionary leadership and innovation in computational sustainability."

Congrats to Carla from our department for this honor! The AAAS seeks to advance science, engineering, and innovation throughout the world for the benefit of all people. Election as a Fellow of AAAS is an honor bestowed upon members by their peers. Fellows are recognized for meritorious efforts to advance science or its applications.
