InfoSci Student Vera Khovanskaya Receives CRA Undergraduate Researchers Award

Congratulations to Information Science Senior Vera Khovanskaya who received the Computing Research Association (CRA) Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award!

From the CRA award letter: "This year's nominees were a very impressive group. A number of them were commended for making significant contributions to more than one research project, several were authors or coauthors on multiple papers, others had made presentations at major conferences, and some had produced software artifacts that were in widespread use. Many of our nominees had been involved in successful summer research or internship programs, many had been teaching assistants, tutors, or mentors, and a number had significant involvement in community volunteer efforts. It is quite an honor to be selected as a Winner."

Vera's award includes a cash prize of $1,000, a plaque and funding to attend a research conference related to her interests.

Announcement of the awards will be posted on CRA's website and in the June 2013 issue of Computing Research News.

Again, Congrats to Vera from everyone in our department!
