PhD Leo Kang Exhibit at Olive Tjaden Hall

Our Information Science PhD candidate, Leo Kang, has an interactive exhibit on display at Olive Tjaden Hall (part of the AAP group of buildings). Kang's piece, "I Want To," has also been shown at the 2012 Maker Faire, as well as in our own Information Science building. The exhibit consists of a series of wooden robots that Kang built, wired to a screen and speakers that respond to Twitter feeds to have the words "I want to" in them, changing them to "I have to," while the robots march in unison.

Kang's research is in the area of human computer interaction and this project was a way of investigating ways that people negotiate their desires in the digital age.

Please see the Cornell Sun feature on Leo Kang's exhibit for more information.
