Culturally Embedded Computing Group

The Culturally Embedded Computing group remixes technology design and cultural analysis of technology. Drawing on Human-Computer Interaction, Science & Technology Studies, and critically oriented product design, we analyze the place of technologies in society and imagine and build technologies based on other cultural imaginations. We use insights from cultural analysis of IT to identify and rethink the assumptions underlying technologies, to build new applications for computing, and to develop new techniques for designing and evaluating technologies.
