Hi! My name is Samar (pronounced Summer). I am doing a PhD under the supervision of professor Tapan Parikh at Cornell’s NYC campus. Prior to joining Cornell, I completed a B.Sc with a double major in architecture and computer science, a professional Master of Architecture, and an MSc in computer science; all from the University of Toronto. I spent years doing research on responsive architecture and ubiquitous computing. But now,  I am looking for practical ways to use my interdisciplinary training in supporting the health, development, and well-being of populations in diaspora. ICTD (Information and Communication for Development), HCI, and fabrication are my primary research areas.
