The interdisciplinary Information Science Minor explores how people interact with technology and artificial‑intelligence‑driven systems, bridging humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Students from any Cornell college can choose a concentration that aligns with their interests and career goals.

 The Information Science minor is open to all undergraduate students except Information Science and Information Science, Systems, and Technology majors.

  • INFO 3160 - Interactive Technologies or elective
  • INFO 4470 Human-AI Interaction Design (previously INFO 4940 Special Topics in Information Science - Designing AI Products and Services) - Interactive Technologies, User Experience, or elective
  • INFO 4940 Special Topics in Information Science: Future of Work - Information Ethics, Law, and Policy or elective
  • SOC 4390 - Data Science concentration or elective

Apply for the minor if:

  1. You have completed all required coursework with a grade of “C” or higher; or,
  2. You are in your last semester as an undergraduate and are successfully enrolled in the final course(s) you need to fulfill the minor.
