Ali explores American imperialism through the emergence of cybersecurity policy and legislation at the turn of the twenty-first century. He is most interested in the how these policies (re)made cyberspace and the geographical/political consequences that followed post-9/11. Before his PhD, he completed my MA and BA in Geography at the University of Toronto where his research was supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and the Department of National Defence.
