Severin Engelmann is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Information Science at Cornell University and Cornell Tech. He studies the ethics, politics, and privacy of artificial intelligence systems that infer, classify, and simulate people in emerging technologies. His work has appeared in ACM FAccT, ACM AIES, ACM EAAMO, ACM CHI, Hart Publishing, and First Monday, and has been featured in TechCrunch and The Washington Post. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and an M.A. in Philosophy of Technology from the Technical University of Munich.
