Rajalakshmi Nandakumar
I am an Assistant Professor at Cornell Tech and in the Computing and Information Science department at Cornell University. I manage the wireless and mobile systems lab at Cornell Tech. I develop computing technologies that enable novel applications across various domains including mobile health, user interfaces and IoT. My research focuses on developing and deploying computing technologies that can create an impact in the real world and improve the quality of life.

Impact Statement
- ApneaApp was licensed by ResMed, a major player in the sleep health industry. SleepScore app released by ResMed that is based on our technology is used by millions of people to determine sleep quality and staging
- Our work on opiod overdose detection by smartphones is being commercialized by a UW startup named Sound Life Sciences Inc.
- FingerIO introduced a novel interaction mechanism for IoT devices and was followed by multiple publications in top conferences. We are currently working with companies to launch our interface in their products
- Our Wi-Fi Gesture recognition technology was licensed by TandemLaunch
