Seamus is the Student Services Assistant for the Department of Information Science. He works closely with both the MPS and Ph.D. programs on funding, processing appointments, administrative support, and prospective applications.

Severin Engelmann is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Information Science at Cornell University and Cornell Tech. He studies the ethics, politics, and privacy of artificial intelligence systems that infer, classify, and simulate people in emerging technologies. His work has appeared in ACM FAccT, ACM AIES, ACM EAAMO, ACM CHI, Hart Publishing, and First Monday, and has been featured in TechCrunch and The Washington Post. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and an M.A. in Philosophy of Technology from the Technical University of Munich.

Olivia is the Assistant Director for the Information Science MPS Program. She works closely with MPS students to support them on their track to receiving their MPS degree

Rebecca is the Career Services Advisor for the Department of Information Science in The Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science. She's here to support MPS students through the job search and decision-making process. She can help with resumes, cover letters, interviewing, networking, and anything else related to life after Cornell. Rebecca especially loves helping students prepare for interviews. Rebecca will be teaching the INFO 5905 Professional Career Development course this semester. Rebecca is remote Tuesday and Wednesday.


Background
Rebecca comes to Cornell after 13 years working at NYU in a variety of roles including career development and admissions. Prior to NYU, Rebecca spent a year teaching English in Japan and traveling and exploring Asia. She also studied in Spain for a semester in college. She still enjoys traveling & especially to destinations with good food. Recently returned to her hometown of Ithaca, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. On weekends during the winter, you will most likely find them on the ski slopes at Greek Peak.

Tyler joined the CSCU in the fall of 2023. Originally from Central New York, he is happy to return to the area after completing his Ph.D. in quantitative psychology at the University of Notre Dame and a postdoc at Cornell at the Center for Integrative Developmental Science. He received his M.S. in Applied Statistics and a B.S. in Psychology at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Tyler’s research interests include methodological work in quantitative psychology, integrative data analysis, Bayesian statistics and applications in a variety of domains including well-being, mental health, and comparative cognition. His work has been published in a variety of journals including Psychological Methods, Multivariate Behavioral Research, Behavioural Processes, Journal of Clinical Psychology, and Innovation and Aging. Tyler enjoys teaching statistical methods and statistical programming, including, but not limited to, multilevel modeling, Bayesian methods, structural equation and measurement modeling, experimental design, and intensive longitudinal data.
