Exploring the future of human-AI collaboration.

Information science researchers explore the dynamic relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and human capabilities, studying how these technologies can enhance the way people learn, work, and make decisions. Research examines critical questions about human-AI collaboration: How do people interact with AI systems in their daily lives? How can AI augment human intelligence rather than replace it? How do we ensure these powerful tools remain accessible, trustworthy, and aligned with human values?

Key research areas include designing more intuitive AI interfaces, understanding how AI affects human behavior and decision-making, developing AI systems that adapt to different user needs and abilities, and ensuring AI supports rather than diminishes human agency. This work aims to advance AI technologies that complement human intelligence while promoting equity, transparency, and meaningful human control.
