Oral Final Exam: Mock Performance Review
You've just finished your app prototype and delivered it to your client (i.e. the instructor). Now it's time to review your performance on the project.
In this mock performance review, you will be questioned individually about your design and development process (including teamwork) for your prototype app; the performance review is not conducted as a team.
Mock performance reviews will be held from Monday, May 4th to Tuesday, May 12th. (Due to University rules, the final exam (e.g. mock performance review) must be completed by noon on May 12th.)
Format
The mock performance review will last a maximum of 15 minutes. (You may finish early, but there is a hard stop at 15 minutes.) A timer will be present during the interview to help you manage your time.
There are three questions for the performance review. You will have approximately 5 minutes to answer each question. The questions will be about your design and development process for your prototype app, including teamwork.
You will have your project Codespace available to you during the interview. You may not use any other resources during the interview. You may not prepare a script or have any notes present, etc.
Your responses will be evaluated for clarity and how effectively you communicated your understanding of the content you've learned in this course.
Sample Questions:
- Walk me through how the data flows through your prototype app.
- Explain how your team designed and implemented an effective approach to supporting a user with a task using AI.
- Tell me about your prototype app and the value you added for the user's task as if I'm a new stakeholder.
Scheduling
Schedule your interview time slot in Canvas no later than Sunday, May 3rd at 11:59pm. To schedule in Canvas, select the Calendar tab in the left sidebar, then show only the INFO 4340/5440 calendar. Then pick a time slot that works for you and click on it to sign up.

The oral exam time slots are on a first-come, first-served basis. If you do not sign up for an oral exam time slot by the deadline, you will receive a 0 for the exam.
Not showing up to your scheduled appointment or canceling within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment will result in 0 credit for the exam. No exceptions.
Preparation
Working with a peer, practice asking and answering questions with each other. This will help you prepare for the interview format and practice communicating your thought process clearly. It's important that you talk aloud to prepare for this exam. Thinking through your answers silently is not effective preparation.
Before the Interview
Open your project Codespace and have it up and running before the review starts.
Wait until the reviewer calls you to start the performance review.
The exam timer starts exactly at your scheduled time, even if you are not present or your Codespace is not running. If you arrive late, you will have less time to answer the questions.
