Emily is a first-year Ph.D. student in Information Science interested in designing and developing socially responsible technologies for health and wellbeing, especially mental health. Emily earned a Bachelor’s at Princeton University focused on global health policy and mathematical modeling of disease epidemics. She then went on to earn a Master’s at Cornell Tech focused on machine learning and health tech. In previous lives she made radio, print and video journalism, led product development initiatives at a tech startup, and taught software engineering. She is advised by Deborah Estrin and Nicola Dell.
