Marianne is an Information Science PhD student at Cornell University. She is interested in analyzing and quantifying the impact of technology on news media, and evaluating any ensuing democratic repercussions. In undergrad, Marianne studied Computer Science and Non-Fiction Writing at Brown University. She previously conducted research in the fields of Crowdsourcing, Robotics, and Human-Computer Interaction at Brown University and the University of Washington. She worked as a Product Manager at Microsoft Advertising before joining Cornell.
