Xiaoyan Li is a PhD candidate in Information Science at Cornell University. Her research focuses on understanding and addressing challenges of remote communication, such as attending hybrid meetings and having water-cooler conversations. In addition to that, she conducted research on facilitating communication in multilingual groups where a common language is used (see news report by the Cornell Chronicle).
Prior to Cornell, Xiaoyan completed her master’s degree in Social and Public Communication at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the UK and her bachelor’s degree in English and Linguistics at Harbin Institute of Technology in China.
She is currently working with Professor Susan R. Fussell.
