Joining Cornell University in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Andy Zhao is now a Ph.D. candidate in the information science department. He is co-advised by Prof. Will Hobbs (Ithaca) and Prof. Mor Naaman (Cornell Tech). His research interests mainly lie in information manipulation and how we may counter it, particularly in the age of generative AI. He also has broad interests in social media, public opinion, and political economics. A fundamental question for him is how new digital technologies are changing people's perceptions and behaviors, and our society, especially at the political level. His personal website is andyzhao.xyz
