Info Sci's Phoebe Sengers recently penned this op-ed exploring populism among rural Canadians and rural Americans. In this piece for Pacific Standard, Sengers argues that one reason that rural Newfoundlanders aren’t interested in populism is because they experience the benefit of government in their everyday lives through strong technological infrastructure programs - everything from roads to ferries to rural internet.
