Info Sci's Thorsten Joachims is the lead author on research that recently picked up Best Paper Award at the 2017 international conference on web search and data mining, ACM WSDM. In "Unbiased Learning-to-Rank with Biased Feedback", Joachims and fellow Cornellians Adith Swaminathan and Tobias Schnabel look at implicit feedback, its advantages and disadvantages.
This adds to a Cornell presence at the conference that also included Claire Cardie as one of the keynote speakers.
