Cornell Computing and Information Science (CIS) illustrated its dedication to diversity at the ACM Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing held September 18 through 21 in San Diego.

CIS and collaborating units sent 34 students, with all expenses paid, to this premier venue to promote diversity in computing. The conference brings together undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, researchers and professionals to connect and form communities around diversity in computing. Professor Richard Tapia is a national leader in diversity and has inspired a generation of African-American, Native American and Latino-Latina students to pursue careers in mathematics.

CIS and Cornell Tech are platinum sponsors of this year's conference.
